Dr Lydia Yong obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2010, and was awarded the Loh Fun Chee Prize for Best Student in Clinical Dentistry.
Dr Lydia subsequently attended a post-graduate course under scholarship and received her Masters of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics from NUS, with dual accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. She is a Braces Specialist, Orthodontist in Singapore registered with the Singapore Dental Council.
She was previously an associate Consultant at the National Dental Centre of Singapore (NDCS). Dr Lydia continually strives to understand and meet her patients’ needs and strives to make every dental visit comfortable and enjoyable. Her excellence in clinical work and patient care won her the NDCS Service with extra Mile (Smile) Award and the Singapore Health Quality Service Award 2019 (Gold Award).
Dr Lydia was awarded the Invisalign Platinum provider award in 2020 and 2021.
A strong believer in continuing education, Dr Lydia keeps abreast of latest developments and technology in dentistry to deliver the highest quality of care for her patients. She regularly attends international conferences, such as the 91st and 92nd Congress of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), and the 7th Yonsei International Mini-Residency for Advanced Orthodontics. Dr Lydia also contributed to the dental fraternity by teaching Orthodontic postgraduates at NUS as a visiting clinical tutor.
Dr Lydia is also passionate about helping others. She has volunteered in dental mission trips to Yunnan, Batam, Bali, and Cambodia to serve village communities where inadequate access to oral healthcare and education put children and adults at risk of serious dental problems.
To wind down, Dr Lydia enjoys long-distance running and browsing cute animals’ Instagram accounts. She also follows football and hopes that Man Utd does better next season!
